Stories of serendipity and generosity abound here in our community. Joanne Hjort, Bayview resident since 2023, found herself no longer needing her wheelchair accessible van. When considering her options for selling her van, fellow resident and Foundation Board member Gary Hammons mentioned Bayview Manor Foundation’s vehicle donation program. This piqued Joanne’s interest as this avenue would give her the opportunity to give back and have a greater impact.
Joanne became the first donor to take advantage of our program in partnership with Donate for Charity. Donate for Charity is a highly reputable and mission driven organization that makes donating your car easy. You simply go online, select Bayview Manor Foundation, fill out a form and schedule a pickup of your vehicle, and Donation for Charity does the rest! After your vehicle is picked up, they sell the vehicle and send the net proceeds directly to Bayview Manor Foundation. Donate for Charity also facilitates the donation of boats, aircraft, trailers, and more.
In describing her experience with Donate for Charity, Joanne said it “couldn’t have been smoother.” She described the representatives as very communicative and helpful in problem solving. Joanne was pleased to donate her van to make a larger contribution to the Foundation that may not have otherwise been possible.
