In June 2021, Bayview introduced our #PowerInPride campaign aimed at uplifting the voices of our LGBTQ+ residents. LGBTQ+ older adults have paved the way for a brighter and more accepting future for generations to come.
We sat down with Bayview residents Dottie, Page, Roy and Michael to discuss their powerful stories of perseverance, resilience, struggle, and of love and loss. There is great vulnerability in sharing a deeply personal story and so we are incredibly thankful for their courage in speaking up.
LGBTQIA+ older adults have paved the way for a brighter and more accepting future for generations to come. For our #PowerInPride campaign, we would like to introduce you to Bayview resident Dottie. Thank you Dottie for sharing a part of your story to our community and the younger generation, proving why society must continue to tap into elder experience and wisdom.

LGBTQIA+ older adults have lived through unprecedented social change, shattering barriers at Stonewall. Bayview Resident Page speaks on his experience during this time and reflects on the evolution from protest to celebration. He also sheds light on what #PowerInPride means to him. Although celebratory, we’re celebrating the victories of our past and hopefully our future as well.

Our #PowerInPride campaign is aimed at amplifying and celebrating the voices of our LGBTQ+ residents. We’re excited to share with you the rest of Bayview Resident Roy’s story. Watch Roy’s video as he shares his experiences of pride and silence, and of resilience and struggle. Thank you Roy for sharing a part of your story and for your brave vulnerability.
In conclusion of our #PowerInPride campaign, we would like to introduce you to Bayview Resident Michael. Thank you Michael for devoting your time to sit down with us and sharing your journey of acceptance through a supportive theater community. His biggest advice for future generations? Watch the video to find out.
Bayview stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community . Like Bayview CEO Nancy Weinbeck stated in her most recent article with Queen Anne & Magnolia News,
While we are proud of our welcoming and open community and excited for the changes we are seeing in the senior living landscape, challenges remain… no matter the challenges we face, we will always stand by our residents and staff and move forward headstrong to this worthy future.
