Where There Is Pride, There Is Power

In June 2021, Bayview introduced our #PowerInPride campaign aimed at uplifting the voices of our LGBTQ+ residents. LGBTQ+ older adults have paved the way for a brighter and more accepting future for generations to come.

We sat down with Bayview residents Dottie, Page, Roy and Michael to discuss their powerful stories of perseverance, resilience, struggle, and of love and loss. There is great vulnerability in sharing a deeply personal story and so we are incredibly thankful for their courage in speaking up.

Bayview stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community . Like Bayview CEO Nancy Weinbeck stated in her most recent article with Queen Anne & Magnolia News,

While we are proud of our welcoming and open community and excited for the changes we are seeing in the senior living landscape, challenges remain… no matter the challenges we face, we will always stand by our residents and staff and move forward headstrong to this worthy future.
