International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21st around the world.

The purpose is to promote the many benefits of its practice – including managing external daily stressors that lead to a more peaceful and harmonious life.

Resident Will Newsom has been going to yoga classes at the Ballard Health Club three times a week for the last 6 years and has barely missed a beat. His best kept secret? “Consistency.”

He initially started going to yoga because he found their program appealing. He especially enjoys gentle floor yoga, which has resulted in improved strength and flexibility. He also enjoys the social aspect and the instructors he works with.

Will acknowledges, “It feels good to know people are looking out for me.”

If you would like to try a yoga class, please join us on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 10:30 am in the newly renovated Bayview Fitness Center.
