Pre-K Program Unlike Any Other

Bayview Intergenerational Children's Center

A Children’s Center inside a Senior Living Community

Bayview’s Intergenerational Children’s Center Pre‑K program is designed to nurture confident, curious, and capable learners who are prepared for kindergarten and beyond. We combine Montessori‑inspired practices with developmentally appropriate early‑learning standards and a distinctive intergenerational model that connects children with older adults in meaningful, enriching ways. We are located at the foot of Historic Queen Anne Hill, just minutes away from South Lake Union and Downtown.

Montessori‑Inspired Learning

Our program draws inspiration from Montessori principles to create a purposeful, peaceful classroom where children learn through hands-on exploration.

  • Child-led work cycles that allow children to follow their interests and develop concentration
  • Real-life, practical materials that build fine‑motor skills and confidence
  • Respect for the child through choice‑making, problem‑solving, and independence
  • Care of the environment to foster responsibility and pride in their classroom community

Kindergarten Readiness

Our curriculum thoughtfully integrates foundational academic and social-emotional skills to support a confident, successful transition to kindergarten.

  • Early Literacy: story retelling, phonemic awareness, pre-writing, and vocabulary building
  • Early Math: counting, patterning, sequencing, and number sense
  • Social‑Emotional Learning: emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and cooperative play
  • Executive Functioning: attention, memory, and flexible thinking

As a result, children leave our Pre-K program prepared to thrive academically, socially, and behaviorally.

Independence in the Classroom

We believe independence empowers children to become confident, capable learners.

  • Children manage their belongings and daily routines
  • Self-help skills (snacks, toileting, cleanup, dressing) are supported with patience and respect
  • Classroom jobs encourage responsibility and leadership
  • Teachers guide rather than direct, creating space for children to try, practice, and grow

Pre-K Tuition

Our tuition for Pre-K is $2,180 per month. This includes:

  • Comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare children for their educational future
  • Creative movement and music programs that enrich daily learning
  • Professional development of our teachers, ensuring they continue to grow as educators
  • Enhanced classroom environments, with new toys and materials to inspire exploration and play
