Evolving Together: Bayview Embarks on a Transformation

After 55 years, Bayview is embarking on a transformation! This year begins the evolution to position Bayview to serve the next fifty years. So many things have evolved since our inception. Some expectations in senior living communities have changed drastically, others remain constant such as Bayview’s mission “Transforming the experience of aging by creating opportunities for healthy, spiritual and purposeful living for our residents, children, staff, and the greater community”.

Bayview is respectful of and guided by its heritage while unrelenting in ensuring our evolution of exceptional health, human and senior living services. Sustainability is cornerstone to our residents of today and tomorrow. As more and more for-profits enter the senior living realm, Bayview has an important role to play as a vital, energizing non-profit in the marketplace.

Bayview will launch a reinvestment in our bricks and mortar in August 2016. The construction and renovation project will meet the demands of the market place and will reveal enhanced amenities, greater comfort, and urban living options such as multiple dining options, an off-leash dog park, and much more. A new fitness center and spa will be relocated centrally to the patio level with an expanded pool. A new two story addition will house assisted living and a dedicated memory care cottage. A number of existing units will be combined to create larger units and new independent apartments will be added which will have kitchen and laundry options available. Interior corridors and common spaces, as well as the library and dining areas, will be updated. An additional elevator will be added to improve horizontal movement within the building.

The total project is anticipated to take eighteen months but will be phased to bring new options on along the way. As fall approaches we will see the guest parking lot close temporarily and our main entrance move to the Terrace entrance off of Queen Anne Drive Way. We highly encourage visitors to use alternatives for arrival i.e. walking or bus.

Bayview has long been a bright gem of the Queen Anne neighborhood and it’s about to get brighter. We look forward to celebrating the successful completion of our renovation and positioning Bayview to be the community of choice for the next 50 years.
