Savoy 2022: a Triumphant Return

Category: Community

Nearly 200 Bayview residents, their families, and friends, enjoyed delicious food and drinks, danced to old musical favorites, and most important, raised more than $63,000 for the Bayview Manor Foundation at the ninth Savoy Gala on September 10, 2022.

The Gala made a triumphant return, after a pandemic-induced interlude, and guests marveled at the interesting items offered at not one, but two auctions – as well as each other’s outfits (a special nod goes to Resident Tim Rich, whose flamingo-pink suit returned from the closet).

The party, which spilled onto the Terrace on a pleasant late summer evening, made our community the hottest spot on Queen Anne Hill. Wondrous decorations transformed the main floor into Paris circa the Roaring Twenties – complete with a cabaret duo enticing the ears and Impressionistic artwork wowing the eyes.

Special thanks must go to Mary Body, Lela Hailey-Oakes, and Barbara Weinberg, who corralled more than 40 volunteers into helping make our annual celebration a huge success.

Guests and residents alike generously donated about $45,000 during the Raise the Paddle portion of the evening – cajoled gently and earnestly by our own Nancy Weinbeck, CEO of Bayview.
